I've been busy for the past week, and am only now getting caught up. Last Friday through Sunday, I attended the Maine Sportsman's Show at the Augusta Civic Center, (March 27-29) where I hung out in Master Maine Fishing Guide Sean McCormick's Blue Heron Fly Fishing booth, selling and signing a whole lot of copies of Rolling Back the River. It was a great show, and talking nonstop all weekend to a parade of anglers, including Sean and his fishing-guide son, Michael, made the time fly past. On the evening of Friday, March 27, I did a joint reading and book signing with authors Jon Bott and Lou Zambello at Selene's Fly Shop in beautiful downtown Gardiner, Maine. A great event, during which I presented Selene with a copy of RBtR—which was not only signed by me, but also decorated on an inside page with an original drawing by artist Bob White—who not only painted the beautiful cover illustration for my novel, but was John Gierach's illustrator for decades—right up until the day John passed away. On Saturday, March 28, I signed books and hung out at the Waldo Threater in in beautiful downtown Waldoboro, Maine, where the George's River Chapter of Trout Unlimited sponsored Maine's only 2026 visit by the Fly Fishing Film Tour. Below, I've posted a few photos from the event at Selene's. If you're on Facebook, you can probably access Selene's short video—with music!—on the event here. AND . . . if you'd like your own signed copy of RBtR, vist the website for Bob White Studio, and Bob and Lisa will hook you up. For an extra price, Bob will even do a custom drawing for you on the title page—of pretty much any fly you'd like him to put there.
